Mission
To build, grow, and sustain access to after- hours emergency pet care on the Olympic Peninsula
Our Story
Pet Emergency Group is a volunteer run non-profit that was formed and is driven by a powerful belief: no pet, or its humans should suffer due to a lack of accessible, local, after hours emergency pet care. We are committed to changing this by bringing after hours pet emergency care to the Olympic Peninsula. Pet Emergency Group is more than an organization, we are a community of passionate pet guardians making a tangible difference in our pets well being.
The establishment of an emergency pet care facility on the Olympic Peninsula is not just a service- it is a lifeline for our pets who deserve access to care at all times. With your support we can make this vision a reality. Together, we can provide a safety net for our furry family members and ensure that local emergency care is not out of reach.
The Challenge
The Olympic Peninsula is home an estimated 61,000 pets, yet lacks after hours emergency care.
A few pet lovers share their struggles with having to travel hours away for emergency care for their pets.
Our vision is that pets on the Olympic Peninsula have access to care at all times.
Our Values
Pet Emergency Group strives to embody the following values in pursuit of our mission and vision:
● Empowering and Informative: By raising awareness about the lack of after-hours care and providing resources on emergency preparedness, we aim to empower the community with the knowledge to prevent and respond to emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of our pets. We are committed to promoting learning and educational opportunities for our pet community.
● Trustworthy and Reliable: We aim to be a trusted resource for pet guardians and local veterinarians. We are committed to acting with integrity in every aspect of our work and to build and maintain trust by conducting accurate analysis, providing reliable resources, and communicating openly and effectively.
● Compassion and Respect: With a shared love for pets and a foundation built on understanding the bond between pets and their guardians, PEG emphasizes compassion and a genuine concern for the emotional and physical well-being of pets and providers in emergency situations. We are committed to acting with respect, empathy, and sensitivity in all situations.
● Adaptable and Resourceful: Bringing after hours emergency pet care to the Olympic Peninsula faces a myriad of challenges including a tight labor market, resource constraints, and unique geographic challenges. We are committed to being adaptable, creative, and resourceful in researching and advancing solutions.
● Collaborative and Community Centered: We are a team of concerned pet guardians and animal lovers from the Olympic Peninsula dedicated to working collaboratively with pet owners, local veterinarians, businesses, and volunteers to achieve our mission and vision together.
